More Cheap Blinds

There are several more types of blinds in addition to the ones that we looked at the first part of the cheap blinds guide. Let’s take a look at some more.

Pleated Blinds

Pleated, or honeycomb, blinds are another popular choice among people looking for cheap blinds. They are generally made out of fabric, and have dozens of little folds that go horizontally all the way across the length of the fabric. When you pull the blinds up, the fabric folds across these pleats and forms into a neat and tidy stack. You can see an example of a pleated shade and a close-up of the pleats below.

Pleated blinds give a very unique feel to a room and are great for anyone who wants their blinds to stand out from the crowd a bit. These blinds can also be made with a special lining that limits the amount of sunlight that is allowed through, making them a great choice for bedrooms and they also work well in conservatories as conservatory blinds.

If you are considering buying pleated blinds, one thing to keep in mind is the quality of the manufacturer you’re buying from. Poorly made pleated blinds can start to bend in new places after some use, instead of just along the pleats. When the blinds start doing this, they tend to look sloppy and will stop working as well as they used to. It’s entirely possible to buy inexpensive, but well-made pleated blinds that will keep their shape properly for years.

Roman Blinds

Another popular choice for cheap blinds are roman blinds. These blinds are also usually made of fabric and have large sections/folds down their length. When the blinds are raised, the fabric bunches along the sections creating nice, neat folds, as you can see below.

Roman blinds can be made in several different styles to meet your unique needs and budget. The standard version comes with a full lining to add to the looks and durability of the blinds, but you can forgo the lining and get a lighter weight version to same some money. Roman blinds give a very elegant feel to the room and are excellent for more formal settings and decors.

Cheap Blinds

There are several options that you have when you are thinking of decorating your windows. You can put up curtains, you can put up shades, or you can choose to decorate your windows with blinds. Curtains usually look great, but they can be difficult to get installed and can prove to be an expensive option. Window shades are fairly inexpensive, but they don’t usually look very good. Window blinds, on the other hand, can be both inexpensive and look great.

If you are looking for cheap blinds, it’s important to buy from a reputable dealer. You might be able to save a few bucks by going with some poorly made, off-brand blinds, but the quality is going to be very low and you’ll probably end up regretting it. Besides, it’s entirely possible to find cheap window blinds that are well made, and that will look great and last you for years. Let’s take a look at some of the different options available when you’re looking for window blinds.

Venetian Blinds

The most common style of window blinds are the full-length, horizontal slat blinds that are usually made out of plastic or metal. These blinds are called venetian blinds, and can also be made out of wood, or a faux wood substance (generally metal that has been finished to look like wood). It’s very easy to find cheap venetian blinds if you’re looking to save money. Generally, metal and plastic (PVC) are good options to look for when you’re decorating on a budget. Wood blinds tend to cost a bit more, but you may be able to find some inexpensive faux wood blinds.

Vertical Blinds

Vertical blinds are another popular choice for decorating windows, and are often used in larger applications, such as bay windows and sliding glass doors. Vertical blinds are exactly what they sound like, and have slats that go up and down instead of horizontally. An example is below.

If you’re looking for cheap blinds, and like the look of the vertical style, you’ll probably want to look for plastic and metal blinds. There are some examples of wooden vertical blinds, but they are much less common and generally more expensive.
